Introduction
Shri Baglamukhi Tara Peeth is the only divine seat where the Ashtadasha Mahavidyas (Eighteen Great Wisdom Goddesses) of both the Shri Kula and Kali Kula traditions are self-manifested and reside.
Here, the presiding deity is Maa Tara in her Neel Saraswati form, flanked on the right by Maa Baglamukhi and on the left by Maa Kamala.
Nestled in the lap of nature, this Peeth has been a self-manifested spiritual site since time immemorial. It was reconstructed by the revered Guruji of Shri Baglamukhi Tara Peeth on Ashtami Tithi (eighth lunar day), Krishna Paksha, Phalguna month in Vikram Samvat 2076 / Shaka Samvat 1941.
The sacred land where the Divine Mother resides is known as the Kumarika Kshetra, which is mentioned in the Shiva Mahapurana.
It is believed that during the wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, the sacred ‘Saal’ tree that was set ablaze still stands as a visible divine relic. Moreover, the seven sacred steps (Saptapadi) taken during their wedding can still be witnessed in the form of rice grains appearing in seven different spots in the area.
Another astonishing spiritual site nearby is known as ‘Jata Pahadi’ or ‘Jata Wala Hoda’, where ‘Shri Jatawale Baba’ served the Divine Mother around 500 years ago and is believed to still do so in his divine form. Even today, devotees experience his spiritual presence.
Directly facing the temple, Lord Bhairava is seated on a nearby hill, watching over the area.
At Shri Tara Baglamukhi Mahavidya Peeth, devotees perform ritualistic chanting (japa), ceremonies (anushthan), fire rituals (havan), and worship (pooja) to seek relief from enemies, diseases, obstacles, and to attain victory in elections or other endeavors through the grace of Maa Baglamukhi Tara.
Lord Vishnu Worshipped Maa Baglamukhi:
According to the Meru Tantra, Lord Vishnu once prayed to Aadya Mahashakti to save the world from destruction caused by fierce storms and hurricanes. As a result, Maa Baglamukhi manifested and protected the universe.
Even today, one can have the divine darshan of the idol of Lord Vishnu and Maa Tripura Sundari at this sacred place.
This region is home to a Siddha Peeth — Shri Baglamukhi Tara Peeth, a divine and powerful spiritual site. It is the only sacred place in India where all 18 Mahavidyas of both the Shri Kula and Kali Kula traditions are self-manifested (Swayambhu). This Peeth has existed since time immemorial and continues to serve as a powerful center for spiritual practice and divine energy.
Under the banner of Shri Maharaj Ji Welfare Foundation, we are undertaking the reconstruction and development of this ancient Peeth, which includes the following temples and spiritual structures:
Shri Baglamukhi Temple

About Material Used By SMJWF
For the temple construction we are using Khavda sandstone which has excellent compressive strength and hardness, which results in its long life. It has been used in many architectural marvels in India since 11th century. – It is a stone that ages very well due to its cellular structure, which holds the intermittent microscopic air gaps and acts as an insulation panel too. – We are using the Khavda yellow stone for the construction of all temples. – There are a few reasons to use the khavda stone; 1. To avoid the use of concrete (particularly reinforced steel), which can deteriorate much faster in the climatic conditions caused by the nearby sea. 2. To construct a temple, which needs minimum maintenance once built. 3. It is locally available in ample quantity. The stonework has already started at one of the workshops of the Khavda, Kacch Gujrat
